We are committed to celebrating diversity and fostering a sense of belonging for all members. DLC Counselors, ages 13-15, play a critical role in creating an environment that promotes friendship, empathy, and inclusivity. This role may mean serving as a "buddy" for a specific individuals and/or "co-teaching" with an entire group.
Counselors in DLC programs are uniquely able to offer insight and support to our programs! As teens, they offer insight to adults and support to children. They're in a special time of growth and action that brings goodness and energy to our groups!
Counselors engaged in both Montessori Schoolhouse and S.T.E.A.M. Project Labs have access to academic materials and topics that extend through middle school standards. They also participate in training and learning about group leadership, work responsibilities, entrepreneurship, communication, and collaboration.
Counselors also play a key leadership role and have opportunities for extended community service and engagement in all DLC programs. We are delighted to sponsor a local Kids for Peace Club, The Bead Project (a kid-led non-profit), and share a complete Community Calendar.
